Abstract :
Abstract One of the most critical environmental problems in recent years is high level of contaminants, in water streams. It is not possible ‎to completely prevent the production of wastewater. However, it is possible to prevent it from spreading in the environment and ‎entering surface water by providing appropriate treatment technologies. The current study investigates the effects of ‎electromagnetic field on the performance of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles in adsorptive removal of phenol and phosphate from ‎wastewater samples. In this regard, the efficiencie of pollutants removal by Fe3O4 nanoparticles, as the magnetic adsorbent, were ‎studied in the presence and absence of magnetic field. According to the results, the removal efficiencies of phosphate and phenol ‎are remarkably respectively improved from 66% and 51%, in the absence of electromagnetic field, to 76% and 60%, in the ‎presence of the electromagnetic field. The electromagnetic field could be able to facilitate the removal of water pollutants by ‎affecting the water molecular structure, increasing molecular motion, and weakening hydrogen bonds.‎
