Abstract :
In this research, a novel method is reported for the surface grafting of Ethylene methacrylate as a thermosensitive agent and Methacrylic acid with an affinity toward Simvastatin onto modified magnetite nano-particles by 3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane. The grafted nanoparticles were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The resulting grafted nanoparticles can be used for the determination of trace Simvastatin in biological human fluids. The profile of Simvastatin uptake by the modified magnetic nanoparticles indicated good accessibility of the active sites in the grafted copolymer. It was found that the adsorption behavior could be fitted by the Langmuir adsorption isotherm model. Solid-phase extraction with HPLC was investigated.
