Abstract :
This paper deals with optimal controller tuning for a true automatic voltage regulation (AVR) system. For this purpose, first, a new relative integral controller with two degrees of freedom is proposed for use in AVR system. In the second step, in order to determine the optimal parameters of such a controller, the objective function that takes into account the transient response characteristics, disturbance, and measurement noise rejection capabilities of the AVR system is presented. In addition, adaptive correctionAlgorithm Optimization Vultures African meta-heuristic Available(AVOA) is introduced to design the controller parameters. Eventually In this work, the simulation model of the AVR system is realized by observing the technical documentation of the system. The obtained results have proven that the proposed AVR controller has superior performance compared to other commonly used controllers in terms of providing SG terminal voltage transient response quality, disturbance rejection and measurement noise reduction capabilities. In addition, the increase in the speed of convergence showed that modificationSuggested AlgorithmAVOA outperforms some of the most popular meta-heuristic algorithms
