Abstract :
In this article, a simulation-based comparison between Time-of-Flight (ToF) and Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar sensors for industrial level measurement applications is presented. The simulation model is implemented in MATLAB environment to investigate the behavior of the sensors under dynamic level change and real noise conditions. Statistical performance parameters such as RMS error, mean error, and maximum error are used to compare the accuracy of the two sensors. The simulation results show that FMCW radar has higher stability and lower measurement error than ToF, especially in noisy conditions.
