Abstract :
Purpose: This study aims to investigate the impact of modern building systems and artificial intelligence (AI) on optimizing energy consumption in buildings. The research further identifies the existing challenges and opportunities in the architectural design process and examines various AI tools along with their advantages and limitations in enhancing energy efficiency and improving environmental quality in buildings. Ultimately, the study seeks to provide practical strategies for designing sustainable and energy-efficient buildings that minimize both energy use and environmental impacts. Method: The research employs an analytical and comparative methodology. Data were collected from credible scientific sources, case studies, and successful projects in the fields of architecture and artificial intelligence. The study focuses on the application of parametric models, machine-learning algorithms, and intelligent management systems in the design process of low-energy buildings. Through comparative analysis, the advantages and constraints of each technological approach are evaluated. Findings: The results indicate that the use of intelligent systems and AI algorithms can significantly reduce building energy consumption and optimize the design process. Solutions such as smart windows, green roofs, intelligent ventilation systems, and data-driven energy management contribute substantially to enhancing energy efficiency and reducing environmental impacts. In addition, the integration of these technologies improves occupants’ quality of life, thermal comfort, and daylight performance. Conclusion: The findings demonstrate that employing artificial intelligence and modern building systems enables the development of sustainable and energy-efficient buildings. This approach can assist designers and policymakers in reducing energy consumption and minimizing environmental impacts throughout the design and planning phases. The results of the study can serve as a practical guideline for improving architectural design, energy management, and the environmental performance of buildings.
