Abstract :
Flooding, as one of the most costly natural hazards, poses a serious threat to residential infrastructure and human settlements. Factors such as climate change and improper urban development have heightened the vulnerability of buildings to this phenomenon. This research aims to identify various flood hazards—categorized as structural and non-structural—and to examine the factors influencing their severity. Adopting an analytical approach, the study assesses vulnerability across two dimensions: physical and socio-managerial. The findings indicate that the severity of damage depends on parameters such as inundation depth, flow velocity, material quality, and the level of resident preparedness. Finally, strategies to enhance resilience—including runoff management and resilient design—are proposed.
