Abstract :
Digital cultural infrastructures, including online platforms, social networks, and communication tools, play an increasing role in promoting citizen participation and sustainable development. This article examines this role. By providing platforms for interaction and information exchange, these infrastructures increase the possibility of citizens’ active participation in public decision-making. This participation, in turn, leads to solving local problems, increasing transparency and accountability of government institutions, and improving the quality of public services. Digital cultural infrastructures can also help promote a culture of participation and social responsibility among citizens. This leads to more sustainable and efficient development of societies. However, barriers such as the digital divide, lack of trust in technology, and lack of awareness of digital tools can affect the effectiveness of these infrastructures. Therefore, it is essential to pay attention to these barriers and provide solutions to overcome them, including education and information. Finally, this article emphasizes the necessity of developing appropriate digital cultural infrastructures and their localization for maximum use in promoting citizen participation and sustainable development. It also emphasizes the importance of active participation of the government and civil society in this process.
