Abstract :
Buildings consume about 40% of the total global energy and this case clearly highlights the necessity of effective sustainable techniques to optimize the efficiency of buildings. One of the key aspects of designing energy-efficient systems to be installed in buildings is to pay enough attention to facades in the initial design phase. This is because their direct effects on the overall energy budget, occupant comfort and building service costs are evident. The review of recent studies has focused more attention on the potential of double-glazed facades to create health and simulate man-made environments, and has provided an in-depth review of the literature on double-glazed facades from the perspective of experimental methods and their main benefits and challenges. This research has been done with the aim of general review and the effects and views of double-glazed facade systems. The findings indicate that double-glazed facades can play a significant role in managing interactions between the outside environment and the interior space of the building. Regardless of the existing problems, it must be said that double-glazed facade systems have various positive effects. The analysis showed that currently there is very little knowledge and experience of the behavior of double-glazed facades in operation to achieve optimal overall efficiency. Also, in order to solve the problems of excessive heating of double-glazed facades in hot seasons and climates, future studies focus on the development of more effective thermal management strategies to optimize the efficiency of double-glazed facades and aim to improve the various benefits of double-glazed facades, including: reducing energy consumption, improving ventilation. , evaluate air flow and thermal comfort, daily exposure and lighting control, sound insulation, noise reduction and acoustic improvement, and visual and aesthetic quality improvement. It also evaluates the possible disadvantages of double-glazed facades, such as high initial cost, high heat absorption due to high U-value, the risk of excessive heating on hot sunny days and disproportionate thermal radiation and subsequent thermal discomfort.
