Abstract :
Separation of geochemical anomalies from background is important part of mineral exploration studies for various elements. There are several methods for separation and distinguishing of anomalous are from background vary from simple statistical methods to complicated fractal methods. Nowadays, fractal-geometry methods have several applications for this matter. For determination of gold and copper anomalous areas in Mamounieh region, 84 litho-geochemical samples was collected and used in this study. For separation of geochemical anomaly areas from background, the concentration-number (C-N) fractal method was used. Fractal geometry is able to stair separation of different areas (background, anomaly limit, anomaly) by using of obtained full-scale logarithmic concentration-number charts; this separation is done regarding to angle factor of C-N curves. By using of C-N method, anomaly limits for Gold and Copper elements were obtained 50ppb and 2377ppm respectively. Finally, the maps of anomalous area were drawn by using of Surfer software and Kriging interpolation and the anomalous areas were identified.
