Abstract :
In the Qajar era, architecture has enjoyed a special status. One of the reasons for this is the importance of the social, economic, and political developments in Iran, aimed at expanding relations and trade with Europe. Yazd, due to the establishment of class and businessmen, has a different economic, social and even architectural context. One of these effects is evident in decorations related to the architecture of residential buildings. The purpose of this article is to analyze the interior decoration of Qajar houses in Yazd based on the social and cultural position of the owner of the building. In commercial houses there is a huge amount of decorations that include wall design, minor, stucco, and so on. This agent is a means for expressing the high social and economic status of the owner of the house to others, and the absence of these decorations at the house of the clergyman or the least amount that can be related to the cultural and social standing of people among the people. And the simple expression of life is the continuation of the path of the public and the elders of religion. Decorating the house of the general public is more than a cultural factor; depending on the relatively hard period of the Qajar period, it depends on the level of economic and financial ability of the customer. This research uses the historical-descriptive method and field studies, and the reasons for the formation of these kinds of decorations in different societies include tradesmen of the clergyman and the general public. The results of this study show that these decorations depend on the position of the ordering person in the community, economics and politics and overshadowed by its attachment.
