Abstract :
In the present study, the behavior of reinforced concrete beams reinforced with steel sheets by finite element method is investigated. For this purpose, a number of reinforced concrete beams with different mounting arrangements (intersecting and parallel to the longitudinal axis of the beam, intersecting and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the beam, overall cover) were simulated and their response to four-point bending loading evaluated. Got it. Also the thickness of steel sheets were considered 1.5 mm and 2 mm respectively. Reinforcement was performed in all cases on the sides and bottom of the beams. The accuracy of the modification method used was tested by simulating a laboratory beam that had been evaluated in previous studies, and a good agreement was observed. Stress distributions, energy absorption capacity, and load-displacement diagrams were among the outputs that were investigated. The results showed that the use of steel cladding has an important role in increasing the bearing capacity of the beams and can increase their energy absorption capacity from 98 to 356% depending on the layout arrangement.
