Abstract :
The elderly age group is highly vulnerable to infectious diseases such as corona, and many health tips must be followed to care for them. In addition to health concerns, mental health and quality of life for the elderly are very important, and this is even more important when these people are living in nursing homes and there are special conditions for the spread of infectious diseases. The prevalence of mental disorders in the elderly living in nursing homes is much more common than in the elderly in the community, and careless attention to environmental quality of life in the nursing home can affect the mental health of the elderly. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the components that designers and architects must observe when constructing or redesigning old residences so that when infectious diseases such as COVID-19 spread and quarantine conditions are created for these loved ones, life Continue in higher quality nursing homes and not endanger the mental health of the elderly. In this paper, which has been compiled based on a review of available sources and descriptive analysis, the aim is to determine the design or redesign components of nursing homes so that emergencies and quarantine do not reduce their quality of life and As a result, the mental health of the elderly increases.
