Abstract :
Today, due to the increasing growth of energy consumption in the world, due to the scarcity and non-renewability of fossil fuel sources and the severe environmental pollution caused by their combustion and the increasing level of public awareness of global warming due to this irregular use From fossil fuels, researchers are looking for a way to replace it with clean, renewable energy. Since 4% of energy consumption is related to the building sector and most of it is spent on cooling and heating, the use of a wind tower, known as a static cooling system, reduces natural ventilation by using renewable energy. Provides significant help in reducing energy consumption. In hot and humid climates, the use of solar energy along with it can increase the efficiency and hours of use of this traditional architectural element, and the use of mechanical equipment is another factor in promoting the use of wind towers in this climate. The research method in this paper is descriptive-analytical and the information is collected through library studies and by studying and reviewing books and other articles in this field and introducing traditional wind towers and their performance and disadvantages, the necessity of designing and using Modern wind towers and examples are discussed.
