Abstract
Our country Iran is located in the seismic belt and is always faced with seismic hazards. Therefore, the design of proper structures against earthquake is of great importance. Studies have shown that all structures have nonlinear behavior with respect to seismic forces and are capable of absorbing a large proportion of the applied forces. The coefficient of behavior in structures plays a moderating role. Therefore, estimating the appropriate value for the coefficient of behavior of structures will play a key role in designing economical and safe structures against earthquakes. Complex cross-section structures are suitable structures for the construction of high-rise buildings. Unfortunately, the regulations do not discuss how nonlinear analysis of complex structures is necessary to obtain the coefficient of behavior of structures. In this study, open source software was used to overcome the challenge and nonlinear design of complex structures. OpenSense software is very effective in analyzing such composites because of its fiber sections. Other topics discussed in this research are the use of flexible elements. By absorbing the input energy into the structures and behaviors, such elements greatly increase the amount of structural flexibility and by increasing the behavior coefficient of the structures can play an important role in reducing seismic input forces. In this study, the effects of the use of forming elements on mixed brackets as well as the effects of type of concrete, steel and the weight ratio of the mixed sections and their effects on the behavior coefficient of structures are investigated.
