Abstract :
    This research has studied and analyzed the urban network of Ardabil province in statistical periods between 2006 and 2016, using methods such as Rank-size rule(Zipf’s Law) , Urban Primacy Index, Herfindal index, entropy index and coefficient of variation. The research has been to achieve the characteristics and trends of changes and developments in the urban network of the province. According to the research findings, the characteristics of the urban network of the province can be considered as the existence of the first urban phenomenon, imbalance in the geographical distribution of population, rupture in the urban network, small cities, distance of cities from their desired population. According to the research, with the increase of cities, Ardabil still has a large population gap with its other competitors. To solve these problems, a proper distribution of the population must be done scientifically.
