Abstract :
    In the contemporary era, the view of modern architecture and along with it, the new generation of academic architects has had a great impact on new buildings, including mosques. One of the most important of these is the formal and spatial effects of mosques in the contemporary era, and in a way that modern mosques are presented today as a new reading of the mosque in the architectural and community space. Certain rules governed the construction of the mosque; The method of research in this article is in the form of logical reasoning (concept to example). The design of the mosque is extracted from it and based on it, the typology of contemporary mosques is discussed. Then, five contemporary mosques in Tehran as examples of contemporary mosques as modern mosques have been studied according to the principles and criteria obtained. Therefore, the contemporary mosques, as a successful and unsuccessful example, have been selected from the users point of view and the design criteria of the mosques have been tested in them. The existence of new changes in the appearance elements of a mosque has been able to preserve the originality of the mosque in terms of the wisdom of Islamic art.
