Abstract :
Human models in architecture as models or complete human beings have constructive elements such as human identity, space-sense, and place-scale that have been formed in a historical continuum, yet at the same time dynamic and effective, in the physical forms of architecture. And often crystallizes in the form of a masculine figure.Architecture with spatial and non-spatial instruments affect the human being patterns and development and presenting sexuality criteria in different historical periods. Analysis of sexuality concept in architecture has an interdisciplinary essence that lay among the conjunction of history, philosophy, art and architecture and also a vast spectrum of various theoretical and social sciences.
The purpose of present study is investigating the concept of sexuality and, in addition, the trend of development of human being patterns by means of oriented-content analysis method and by using analytic-comparative techniques in modern and post-modern historical periods. Therefore, at first, the theories of influential architecture scientists about sexuality concept have been investigated, then manifestation and emergence of these thoughts in scope of architecture during these two different periods was studied. Finally, based on the theoretical framework, sexuality criteria in architecture and their impact on emergence of human being patterns during these historical periods were explained. Although, the architectural analogy between the architectural components and the human body is in consistency with the abstract view of artists, but according to the findings of present study and reviewing architecture texts, one could conclude that architecture with the ignorance of woman and his body has been designed and theorized in a sexuality-oriented nature.
Studying the human patterns and sexuality component in architecture is challenging the essential patterns and special methods of architecture theories that rooted deep in art and architecture history.
