Abstract :
In the world of visual arts, representation and a kind of reflection from the real world is a part of the work. This has a clear aspect about the art of photography, which somehow records the outside world. But in the era of postmodern art and in parallel with the evolution of photography, the importance of the artist s mind is such that it is no longer easy to recognize its representation and type in the works of leading artists. This is particularly explored in the works of Christie Mitchell. With the aim of investigating how representation occurs in the works of this artist, through qualitative and descriptive analytical research methods, 10 examples of selected works of the artist in question from the collection of Sarzemin Ajaib have been investigated. The findings indicate that in these works the artist s mind and his imaginations from his childhood were most influential and the reflection of reality and its representation was very weak and only a shadow of the real world.
