Abstract :
Lying is forbidden in Islamic Sharia and is one of the major sins, and the perpetrator of lying will be punished and punished by God. The intellectual base considers lying to be ugly and distasteful, false testimony is one of the types of lies, and God Almighty says in Surah Nahl verse 105 : I do not forbid the falsehood of those who do not believe in the verses of Allah, and those are the liars. Translation: Those who do not believe in God s revelations lie to God, and these disbelievers are, of course, liars themselves. Perjury is a crime and the punishment for it has been determined in the law. In this regard, Article 650 of the new Islamic Penal Law approved on 1/2/1392 stipulates: Whoever gives false testimony in court before official authorities shall be imprisoned for 3 months and one day. He will be sentenced to two years of imprisonment or a fine of one million five hundred thousand to twelve million Rials. Note- The punishment mentioned in this article is in addition to the punishment mentioned in the chapter on limits, retribution, and punishment for perjury. Considering that crime causes social damage and the crime of perjury causes material and spiritual damage to society, some verses of the Holy Quran provide ways to prevent the crime of perjury, which is tried in this article. Some of those noble verses should be researched.
