Abstract :
    Rangeland provides many benefits to us humans, but the destruction of rangeland is a global challenge, which is more severe in developing countries. There are many factors involved in the destruction of pastures, which are different according to the spatial and temporal conditions governing different countries and regions. Among these factors can be the increasing population growth and excessive pressure on pastures, lack of public knowledge and awareness of the importance and lack of basic planning for the protection of these areas, land use change and fragmentation of rangeland, excessive livestock grazing, drought, and fire. The most important solution for pasture evaluation is to choose suitable criteria and indicators for comparison and evaluation at the national and global levels. In this article, based on international studies and the opinion of a group of experts in the agricultural sector, five criteria and sixty-seven indicators affecting the sustainability of the country s rangeland have been presented. However, its implementation at the national level requires the serious determination of the responsible department and cooperation and constructive interactions between the organizations.
