Housing design with the approach of Hexaco s personality theory

Abstract :
    The house is the first and most durable space experience of man, which plays a role as a container for living throughout his life. The house has always been considered one of the most important design topics in architecture, and this is why thinkers in the field of architecture, in order to better understand it, have presented various definitions in different periods. Different attitudes, different opinions and contradictory reactions from the audience of an architectural work on the assumption of independence of opinion, shows the intellectual life and difference in the perspective of people. The better and more accurate understanding of the different angles of human existence and his way of looking, the better understanding of the wishes and architecture. Hexaco s theory, which is one of the most comprehensive personality theories, can relatively express a person s space preferences, or a significant relationship can be found between Hexaco s personality variables and architectural preferences. By knowing the personality traits of people, the designer can design in the design process in a way that is in accordance with the fixed or relatively fixed preferences of the person from the space, and this process can be traced in the function of the body, the relationship with the natural environment. The data collection method is based on news items and is collected with a closed-end questionnaire with 5-point Likert answers. The data analysis method is provided by RapidMinder software and the significance and non-significance of the variables are checked. The statistical population in this research is the students of the final year of architectural expertise in Kashan State University and Kashan Azad University, and the total sample size includes 91 students. The sampling method is purposeful and is chosen with the aim of investigating the architectural preferences of architectural experts and their personality traits. The validity of the research is ensured through Cronbach s alpha, so that after compiling the types of research, a questionnaire was taken from a statistical sample of 20 people, and Cronbach s alpha was taken for this set, and in this way, the validity of the research is ensured. The results of the research show that investigating and recognizing the personality traits of people in architecture can be a good solution to achieve the best housing construction required for each type of personality, one of the most famous and important tests in the field of personality testing. Hexaco s personality is welcome. This research has been done in order to know the types of personality and also the design of housing according to different types of personality based on personality test and architecture test. The results of the research show that according to different personality types, different residential space plans are needed.
