Abstract :
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of short-term psychotherapy that focuses on current issues and is based on the idea that a person s way of thinking and feeling affects his behavior. Focusing on solving the problem and goal is changing the client s thinking pattern in order to change his response to difficult situations. The CBT approach can be used in many mental health issues and problems. Cognitive behavioral therapy is suitable for children, adolescents and adults and for individuals, families and couples. This method has been effective in the treatment of depression, generalized anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, general anxiety, panic disorders, fear of open places, social phobia, eating disorders, marriage problems, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and children s anxiety and depression. CBT may also be effective as an intervention for chronic pain and related disorders. The onset of the Covid-19 outbreak had unprecedented psychological and emotional consequences, especially for recovered patients, so disaster resilience can be beneficial. The present study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) in increasing the resilience of recovered patients from COVID-19 at the height of the epidemic. This research was a semi-experimental type with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of this study included all recovered patients of Covid-19 with an average age of 33.06 years at the peak of the epidemic in Isfahan (30 people) in 2021-2022. These people were selected by purposeful sampling method and randomly replaced in two experimental and control groups (15 people in each group). After the pre-test, the experimental group received the CBT program for 12 sessions and the post-test was conducted. Required data were collected using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC; 2003). The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (analysis of covariance [ANCOVA]) using SPSS version 20 software. The findings showed that CBT led to an increase in resilience and had a significant effect on the experimental group (P < 0.01). CBT can be considered an effective treatment in reducing the problems and improving the psychological indicators of recovered patients of COVID-19.
