Abstract :
An atom is the basic unit of all matter, consisting of a nucleus (which contains protons and neutrons) and electrons that orbit the nucleus. This fundamental particle determines the chemical and physical properties of matter. When two or more atoms combine, a molecule is formed. Molecules can consist of atoms of the same element (such as the O₂ molecule) or of a combination of different atoms (such as H₂O). These combinations create more complex structures and give the matter new properties.
