Abstract :
In recent decades, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has been recognized as one of the important and essential tools in the analysis and simulation of fluid flows in mechanical engineering. With the advancement of technology and the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI), the use of this technology in CFD has been considered in order to improve the accuracy, efficiency and speed of simulations. This paper reviews the applications of artificial intelligence in CFD and analyzes the role of this technology in design optimization, fluid flow performance prediction, computational time reduction, and real-time simulations. First, the theoretical foundations and common methods in CFD simulation are discussed, and then the concepts and methods of artificial intelligence that are used in this field are introduced. In the applications section, examples of optimizing aerodynamic and hydrodynamic profiles, predicting pressure, velocity and temperature distribution in complex flows, accelerating the solution of Navier-Stokes equations and performing real-time simulations are reviewed. Then, the technical and operational challenges facing the implementation of artificial intelligence in CFD are discussed. These challenges include the need for large and high-quality data, the complexity of CFD models, compatibility of models, computing time and resources, integration of AI with existing tools, and security and privacy issues. Possible solutions for each of these challenges are also provided. Finally, the paper summarizes the advantages and importance of using artificial intelligence in CFD simulations and offers suggestions for future research and development. The purpose of this article is to provide a comprehensive and practical view of the capabilities of artificial intelligence in improving CFD processes and to encourage more use of this technology in mechanical engineering.
