Abstract :
In order to investigate the effect of seed priming with chitosan on the improvement of physiological traits of soybean under salt stress, a factorial experiment was conducted in the form of a completely randomized design with three replications in Mohaghegh Ardabili University in 1403. The treatments included four levels of salinity (zero, 50, 100, and 150 mM) and four levels of chitosan (zero, 0.25, 0.50, and 0.75% w/v), all of which were dissolved in 1% acetic acid. The results showed that salt stress decreased the germination rate, the amount of seed reserves used, the efficiency of using seed reserves, the mobility of seed reserves, the fraction of reserves used, and increased the remaining dry weight, but priming with different levels of chitosan, especially chitosan 75 0.0% improved these traits compared to the control and reduced the remaining dry weight. The results of this research show that among the studied treatments, seed treatment with 0.75% chitosan is considered the most effective method for improving the physiological traits of soybean seeds and can reduce the harmful effects of salt stress on some traits in soybean seedlings and increase the growth of seedlings. improve
