Abstract :
    Abstract: In the beginning of the 16th century, the trips of tourists and travelers to different parts of Asia, including Safavid and Ottoman Iran, created the initial design of oriental studies. At the end of the 17th century, a book titled Oriental Library was published in France. Perhaps this book can be considered as the first and most fundamental work in the field of Orientalism in the Age of Enlightenment. With the beginning of the 18th century and during the Age of Enlightenment, through these travelogues and texts, someone like Montesquieu gained his knowledge of Eastern societies and wrote a book for He wrote the comparison of the social and political life of the West and the East. His Iranian Letters , which was influenced by the Safavid era s travel texts and the texts that depicted the image of Iran at that time, was a starting and fundamental point in the studies of Oriental studies and the construction and elaboration of a concept such as Oriental tyranny .
