Abstract :
one of the most common methods of nontraditional machining is electro discharge machining to produce complicated shapes. In this method are not any contact with electrode and work piece so the problem of convenient methods are eliminated. When the distance between the two electrodes is reduced, the intensity of the electric field in the volume between the electrodes becomes greater than the strength of the dielectric (at least in some point(s)), which breaks, allowing current to flow between the two electrodes. As a result, material is removed from both the electrodes. The purpose of this research is optimization of spark machining for machining of ss316 that used in industry. Input effective parameters are pulse-on-time , pulse-off-time and current that investigate the effect of these parameters on output parameters such as material removal rate and roughness. The purpose is multi optimization of output parameters and experiment accomplished with taguchi and L27 orthogonal array method. Then output parameters multi optimized with genetic algorithm. The result is the second order polynomial model for material removal rate and roughness that can achieve better surface and higher material removal rate with suitable selection of variables .optimization lead to increase production rate considerably by reduction machining time.
