Abstract :
    Environmental, social, and economic issues are one of the challenges facing today s cities in the present century. Given the growing global interest in the concept and issue of sustainable development, focus on environmental issues and ecological approaches to the planning of sustainable cities has become important. This paper, by reviewing previous studies in a comprehensive manner, identifies the environmental impacts of interactions between natural environments and human activities, introduces the concept of urban ecosystems, examines current assessment methods and describes a sustainable assessment of ecosystems in sustainable cities. Propose sustainable metropolitan indicators and propose sustainable management principles.
