Abstract :
Bamboo is an important resource for rural communities, especially in tropical areas. Talking about the availability of this material, the city of Port de Paix which is located on the Atlantic coasts, has a large production of bamboo and is one of the richest cities in terms of production and diversity of bamboo. In this paper, an attempt has been made to focus on the role of bamboo in the world with a detailed construction method. In addition, various construction materials and different methods of material’s transportation and trade from surrounding countries to the Port de Paix such as import by the sea and ferry has been investigated in order to know which way is more economically sustainable for construction in the city as well as rural societies. Information has been provided on the status, identification and evaluation of societies related to this trade.
