Abstract :
Abstract There are different methods for wastewater purification in the world. Given the importance of this study, the use of biological methods, is more significant. In this work, the ability of lentic plant for bioremediation of a solution containing Crystal violet (Cv) dye was studied. The effect of operational parameters such as initial dye concentration, reaction time, amount of plant and pH on the efficiency of biological decolourization process was examined. Under the optimized experimental conditions Crystal violet, was removed up to 96% from aqueous solution by Lemna minor. Potential of the plant in successive removal under long term repetitive experiments confirmed the biodegradation process.
