Abstract
In order to detect drought tolerant genotypes, 5 Iranian clover ecotypes were tested in a field experiment at the Seed and Plant Improvement Institute of Karaj in 2015 - 2016 as split plots in a randomized complete block design with four replications. In this experiment, drought stress as the main factor in the three levels (Normal conditions, medium stress and severe stress were 60, 75, 85 mm evaporation from the evaporation pan) and the Iranian clover ecotypes were considered as subordinate to the surface including Line13, Aleshtar, Eghlid, Harati and Zabol.the results indicated that the effect of drought stress and ecotype on physiological traits was significant at %5 level. The highest leaf area, leaf area index (10 stems) and (single stem), respectively with values of 318.88, 31.89 and 3.17 cm2 respectively, were related to normal conditions and the lowest leaf area, leaf index ( 10 stems) and (single stems) were obtained with 129. 55 cm, 12.95 and 1.29 respectively in severe stress conditions, respectively. the highest The leaf area values were related to aleshtar ecotype and the lowest was the Line 13. interaction effect (drought stress × ecotype) had a significant effect on plant height at %5 probability level (LSD = %5). the highest altitudes with 50.16 cm were obtained from eghlid ecotype under normal stress conditions and the lowest height with 30.33cm for the ecotype of aleshtar under severe.
