Investigating the Role of Information Technology in Organizational Effectiveness in Government Offices

Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of IT on organizational effectiveness in government departments. This research is descriptive-applied. The statistical population of this research is all employees of Tehran Financial and Tax Administration. For collecting data on theoretical foundations and extracting primary factors and indicators from library and Internet resources, including books, articles and case studies. A questionnaire was used to collect information and data needed to investigate the research hypotheses. In order to confirm the validity of the questionnaire, the experts have used this field. To confirm the reliability of the questionnaire, the Cronbach s alpha test has been used which is 0.894 which indicates its high reliability. Research findings confirm the role of IT in organizational effectiveness, but the results, however, show that despite this relationship, information technology is still viewed as a supporting function in the organization. In order to analyze the data, Spearman correlation test was first used to examine the hypotheses.
