Abstract :
With the increase of electricity exchanges, it is inevitable that the capacity of the transmission system will be inadequate. Therefore, one of the most challenging aspects of operation in power systems with free access to the transmission system is network congestion management. Transmission grid congestion is the main constraint of optimal utilization of energy resources. Congestion can be caused by the disconnection of the generator and transmission line, changes in energy demand and uncoordinated exchanges, so the system is unable to meet the safety requirements due to overload. In this paper, an introduction to congestion restructuring and management is discussed first, and congestion management is defined in the power system. Then methods of eliminating congestion are presented. In the next sections, the optimization of FACTS devices, the use of FACTS devices in congestion management, the static transmission line model and TCSC and its optimal location are discussed. Then, the topic of congestion management is discussed in detail using the flow tracking of the lines and its simulation. The conclusion is drawn at the end.
