Abstract :
This research is a descriptive-analytical research whose general purpose is to determine the traffic behavior of pedestrians and the factors affecting it in Sahand city. The information in this project was collected through questionnaires provided to more than 200 pedestrians in Sahand city in all four phases of the city and was used to review pedestrian behaviors. In this research, pedestrians were randomly selected and scored on the basis of observation and traffic behavior obtained through questionnaires. The total collected questionnaires were evaluated in order to achieve a total traffic score for the city and the traffic behavior of pedestrians in Sahand city was evaluated. Also, the relationship between any of the demographic characteristics, such as age, sex, education, and marriage, was studied with the safe behavior of pedestrians. For each of the demographic characteristics, the categories were created and the score obtained for each category was calculated and analyzed. Also, the way of passing the general citizens of Sahand city and their daily walking was questioned. The statistical results were analyzed using SPSS and STATA softwares and presented as tables and charts. Questionnaires were also categorized into five dimensions and for each dimension the scores for demographic characteristics were individually evaluated and statistically analyzed. The validity of the hypotheses was confirmed by statistical tests.
