Abstract :
Drilling fluid has the vital role in any drilling operation therefore the selection of drilling fluid are regarded as one of the key factors in succeeding any drilling operation. For some advanced drilling operations, currently used oil-based fluid but for environmental issues these days it is not recommended. Industry want to find replacement solutions and using nano particles is one of these ways. The present study aimed to improve the rheological properties of the polymer-based fluid by using the metal oxides nanoparticles such as Al2O3, SiO2, and optimize the fluid as much as possible. For this purpose, the effects of various concentrations of nanoparticles were evaluated on the rheological properties of polymer-based drilling fluid at room temperature under HPHT conditions. The results were compared with the base fluid without a nanoparticle. Finally, an optimal concentration was found for these nanoparticles, which can be used to increase the rheological properties and filtration of drilling fluid in real conditions. These results indicated that the drilling fluids optimized with the Nano improve the rheological properties of the fluid, especially reduce the fluid loss and create a better filter cake. According the results nano-enhanced drilling fluid have and improved rheological properties that can used in the industry with a lower environmental impact.
