Abstract :
This study investigates the impact of transformational leadership on empowerment and employees organizational commitment; in addition, it aims to investigate the effect of empowerment on the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational leadership. Data was gathered by a questionnaire given to 189 clerks of Bank Melli Iran using cluster sampling. SPSS and Amos software, One-Sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test, and Spearman Rank Correlation Test, were the instruments used in order to examine this relationship; this study is based on Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach. The results of Spearman rank correlation test and standard estimates of structural equation model revealed transformational leadership has a positive and meaningful impact on both empowerment and organizational commitment; the results also indicated that empowerment has a positive and meaningful relationship with organizational commitment and affects it. The main result of this study is that empowerment affects the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational commitment.
