Abstract :
In this paper, novel OGrid and Nested bracing systems are introduced and their linear and nonlinear behavior is studied and compared with moment resisting frame (MRF), X-bracing system and Diagrid bracing system in four and eight-story models through response spectrum analysis and nonlinear static (pushover) analysis. Results showed that new bracing systems have appropriate seismic behavior. Absorbed energy in new OGrid and Nested bracing systems in comparison with moment resisting frame in four and eight-story frames is about 2.83 and 2.37 times respectively, and in comparison with X-bracing system is about 5.77 and 14.81 times respectively. This system has appropriate ductility that dissipates much force and the damage associated with the warning. New OGrid and Nested bracing frames are placed on the frame in a way that architectural instruments can be installed in it without disturbing the architectural design and are also as a form of significant architecture.
