Abstract :
Abstract Natural gas hydrate formation is a serious problem in the gas and oil industry because it can plug pipelines and destroy the equipment. Inclusion of glycol ethers into a kinetic inhibitor solution was found to enhance the inhibitor performance during natural gas hydrate formation. In the present study, the effect of glycol ethers on the performance of 55W and EG commercial kinetic inhibitors at 4ºC and initial pressure of 95 bar has been compared. The results indicate that the presence of glycol ethers has a stronger synergistic effect with inhibitor 55W than with inhibitor EG.
