Abstract :
Hot rolling is a process that involves rolling steel sheets at high temperatures (usually above 926 degrees Celsius, which is higher than the temperature of re-crystallization of steel). In the production of rebar, the formation steps are divided between several pairs of different rollers, and each of them is responsible for part of the deformation on the input metal. In hot rebar rolling, the key parameters that affect the mechanical-thermal process include friction, distance between the top and bottom rollers are the linear speed of the ingot, the rotation speed of the rollers and the temperature of the ingot. The three-dimensional simulation of the hot rolling process of rebar is done using ABAQUS / EXPLICIT 2019 software. Examining the thermal parameters of the product exiting the hot rolling line, obtaining the geometry of the final product of the rolling line, which is a rebar size 32, statistical analysis of simulation results shows that the initial temperature of the ingot is the most effective quantity on the rolling force, and the percentage reduction in thickness has the greatest effect on the rolling torque. At the studied rolling speeds, this quantity does not have a significant effect on rolling force and torque. The percentage of reduction in the thickness and diameter of the roller is directly related to the force and torque of the roller, and decreases with increasing the initial temperature of the ingot, the force and the torque of the roller
