Abstract :
In the present study, the behavior of reinforced concrete beams reinforced with steel cladding has been investigated using the finite element method. For this purpose, a number of reinforced concrete beams with steel cladding and with different placement arrangements (cut and parallel to the longitudinal axis of the beam, cut and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the beam, general coverage) were simulated and their response to four-point flexural loading was evaluated. Took. Also, the thickness of steel sheets was considered 1.5 and 2 mm, respectively. Reinforcement was performed in all cases on the sides and bottom of the beams. The accuracy of the modeling method used was evaluated using a laboratory beam simulation that had been evaluated in previous studies, and good agreement was observed. Stress distribution, energy absorption capacity and load-displacement diagrams were among the outputs studied. The results showed that the use of steel coatings have an effective role in increasing the load-bearing capacity of beams and depending on the type of arrangement can increase their energy absorption capacity from 98 to 356%.
