Abstract :
Nowadays The crisis of water scarcity and how to save water is one of the most vital and challenging issues in the world. In the Middle East and Iran, due to climate change between 2013-2018, the average rainfall has decreased from 250 mm to 204 mm. Also, the average rainfall in Iran is less than one-third of the world average. One of the most important sources of fresh water that can be used is rainwater that is stored behind dams and due to the high radiation hours in Iran, which can reach up to 13 hours on certain days of the year. one of the problems in this area is that a significant portion of the existing water reservoirs behind the dams evaporate as a result of direct sunlight. A solution for solve this problem is to use floating solar panels on the water behind dams to prevent water evaporation. This paper will introduce and explain the usage of floating solar panels technology as a new method to solve the problem of water evaporation and energy production. utilization of floating solar panels for Prevent water evaporation in Karun-3 Dam represented. Result show that by building a 10-megawatt power plant of panels covering an area of about 105,000 square meters (25,000 panels) on the Karun-3 dam, 600 liters of water per square meter save, which equates to 63 million liters of water per year.
