Abstract :
Various studies are conducted on the relationship between the two arts of architecture and cinema, but unfortunately, the feelings induced by the architecture in the cinema scenes and the environments’ physical parameters have not been investigated so far. Since cinema stage designers have surpassed architects in creating environments to convey emotions, by referring to the details of these scenes, it is possible to identify the items used to induce certain emotions in people. Therefore, by selecting indoor and outdoor environments’ scenes from movies and analyzing their physical parameters, the current research investigates how to induce specific emotions in people by using physical parameters in environments. The selected emotions for the study are “happiness, mystery, sadness, fear and disgustâ€. The selected images were analyzed in terms of “color HSV, RGB, percentage of openings, furniture, filled and empty spaces, and other effective environmental factorsâ€. The results of this research enable architects and designers to induce the desired emotions by the client in their designs.
