Abstract :
The purpose of presenting this article is to investigate the potential and concept of nanosensors. The term nanosensor is not clearly ‎defined. Sensors are widely utilised in everyday life, with uses ranging from monitoring gas concentrations to recognizing faces. ‎Sensors are also widely used throughout various industrial processes to detect and monitor various processes. Nanosensors work in ‎the same way as conventional sensors, but the defining difference is that nanosensors use nanomaterials as their active sensing ‎element. Most definitions refer to a sensing device with at least one of its dimensions being smaller than 100 nm and for the purpose ‎of collecting information on the nanoscale and transferring it into data for analysis. There are two types of nanosensors – mechanical ‎nanosensors and chemical nanosensors – which both have different sensing mechanisms. The aim of this review is to provide an ‎overview of all classifications of nanosensors, showing the characteristcs and functioning mechanisms among thevarious categories. ‎
