Abstract :
Islamic architecture comprises the architectural styles of buildings associated with Islam. It encompasses both secular and religious styles from the early history of Islam to the present day. The Islamic world encompasses a wide geographic area historically ranging from western Africa and Europe to eastern Asia. One of the problems of today s societies is to separate spiritual foundations from art. This problem also exists in the category of architecture and urban planning, and unfortunately, this problem has permeated our country as well. This is while the art of architecture should pay attention to material and spiritual aspects. Although Islamic architecture and urban planning are full of deep spiritual concepts, but currently the general architectural atmosphere of the country has followed the western culture and we see Islamic architecture in very few buildings. The purpose of this article is to address the ways to solve these problems and provide the necessary infrastructure to achieve authentic Iranian Islamic architecture. For this purpose, after examining the sources of Islamic culture, in the field of residential architecture, he examines residential architecture in the past, and compares it with today s residential architecture, in order to provide a new solution for the revival of Iranian Islamic architecture. The type of descriptive research and library information collection tool. The question raised is, what is the reason for moving away from Islamic architecture? And how can it be revived? The obtained results show that the most important reasons for moving away from Islamic architecture in the field of housing are the lack of theoretical foundations based on Islamic culture, on the one hand, and the influence of Western culture on the other hand, and to achieve Iranian-Islamic residential architecture. The necessary infrastructure must be provided to solve these problems.
