Smart city applications must be environmentally-friendly, hence require a move towards green IoT. Green IoT leads to an eco-friendly environment, which is more sustainable for smart cities. This paper will explore the smart city concept and propose a strategy development for the implementation of IoT systems to knowledge may help urban planning to further qualify urban green spaces.
