Abstract :
Aquaponic systems have gained significant attention in recent years as a sustainable method of food production that integrates aquaculture and hydroponics. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of aquaponic systems, their components, and the various factors influencing their success. It explores the benefits and challenges associated with implementing aquaponics, as well as its potential for addressing global food security and environmental sustainability. The paper also discusses recent advancements in aquaponic research, highlighting key findings and technological innovations. Furthermore, it offers recommendations for future research and the widespread adoption of aquaponic systems, including standardization of best practices, integration of emerging technologies, scaling up, and considering socio-economic impacts. Also, at the end of the article, Chekadbam company is introduced as the mother company of Iran s green roof, and the aquaponics made by this company are discussed.
