Abstract :
Road accidents are a major global concern, resulting in injuries, fatalities, and economic losses. Studies have shown that environmental and road factors such as weather conditions, visibility, road design, inadequate infrastructure, inappropriate or outdated safety equipment, traffic volume, and insufficient traffic control measures, play important role in accidents. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate environmental and road factors in road accidents and find a solution to reduce them in order to improve road safety and reduce economic losses. Safety measures such as road maintenance, use of high quality road materials, and improved drainage systems can reduce the risk of accidents. Additionally, traffic management measures, such as speed reductions, increased police enforcement and improved road signs, can help increase road safety. This research focuses on investigating the impact of environmental and road factors on road accidents and emphasizes the need for comprehensive strategies to improve road safety.
