Abstract :
Data encryption is crucial for information security, especially in cryptocurrencies. This research explores encryption in information security and its relevance to cryptocurrencies. It covers the fundamental need for encryption in cybersecurity, its history, and diverse encryption algorithms, including symmetric and asymmetric key algorithms. The article discusses prominent examples such as AES, DES, RSA, and ECC, their working principles, and their applications in cryptocurrencies. The article suggests that a mixed approach combining the virtues of symmetric and asymmetric key algorithms is the best way to secure sensitive cryptocurrency data. AES and RSA are promising options that offer efficiency and robust security. A comprehensive approach that considers performance, compatibility, and key management is crucial. The article concludes that leveraging the strengths of AES and RSA and staying updated with emerging encryption technologies can establish a strong security foundation for cryptocurrencies. This document offers insights into encryption, its historical context, and its importance in digital currencies. It serves as a resource for comprehending different encryption algorithms and their applications, emphasizing the need for robust encryption methods to safeguard sensitive data in digital transactions.
