Abstract :
Scorpion envenomation is one of the most important health challenges in tropical and sub-tropical countries of the world. Among the six important venomous species of scorpions of Iran; Androctonus crassicauda, Hemiscorpius lepturus, Hottentotta schach, Hottentotta saulcyi, and Odontobothus doriae and Mesobuthus eupeus, the scorpion of Hottentotta schach is entirely black in color and distributed in Khuzestan and Fars provinces. The advantage of venom transcriptome research is increased the discovering of venom composition and allows the study of expression patterns of venom encoding genes. In this study, we presented a comprehensive study of transcriptome analysis of the scorpion venom glands of Hottentotta Schach for In Silico identification of putative venom genes expressed in the venom glands. By sequencing the transcriptome of H. schach venom gland, the results of transcriptome construction and data analysis were presented here. The results showed that a total of 213,626 contigs were constructed, of which 136,897 unigenes were obtained. The results of gene ontology showed that among the identified genes, the most genes were involved in the metabolic pathway and the least in the pathway related to immune system.
