Abstract :
In the past three decades, the uses of steel plate shear walls due to advantages such as stiffness, ductility, strength and high energy absorption, to resist the lateral forces is considered. Due to the low buckling load of these walls, the stiffener used to improve their behavior; but using stiffener with practical problems such as increasing the time of construction is caused by the installation of the stiffener. So, the use corrugated plates as shear wall due to high buckling load and no having difficulty using stiffener, in recent decade have been welcomed by researcher. Since the opening existence due to equipment and architectural reasons is inevitable in some cases, and opening can be placed in different locations of shear wall or having different forms, this paper examines the effect of shape and location of opening on the behavior of corrugated steel plate shear walls; For this purpose, opening is located in nine place from plate shear wall, as well as the investigated opening forms include square, rectangle, circle, ellipse and triangle. The ABAQUS software is used in the analysis of the models, and the structural behavior as non-linear (including materials and geometry non-linear behavior) is considered.
